About Us :-
Vapour blasting – also known as wet blasting – uses a fine glass bead suspended in water at a ratio of approximately 1 part bead to 9 parts water.
This slurry is then accelerated by compressed air to provide a gentle, but thorough cleaning, leaving a satin shine without damage to the component.
Unlike bead blasting it will not peen the surface. For masking purposes all that is required is domestic masking tape. The gentle nature of the blast will not penetrate.
Engine cases can be cleaned inside and out. Bearing and gasket surfaces are unharmed.
The system is designed for the cleaning of aluminium, titanium, magnesium and brass etc.
Whilst there is a degreasing element to the cleaning, heavily soiled components will require cleaning before treatment. Paint and anodising will also have to be removed.
Being water based, any item that rusts will oxidise immediately. Any items containing steel should be stripped. Those that cannot will have the studs or drum brake surfaces will be chemically treated after blasting. THE ONUS IS ON THE CUSTOMER TO ENSURE THAT BRAKE SURFACES ARE THROUGHLY DEGREASED BEFORE USE.
This is a parts treatment system. Glass bead, by its nature, penetrates the component and will require a thorough washing to ensure it is removed. Once again, whilst we will wash all parts before return, THE ONUS IS ON THE CUSTOMER TO ENSURE THAT ALL PARTS ARE FREE OF ABRASIVE BEFORE REASSEMBLY.
If you’re not sure if this treatment is suitable, or if your item might be too large for the cleaning tank, give us a call or visit and we’ll try it for size.
We also offer ultrasonic carburettor cleaning, the only way to ensure that the internal air/fuel passage ways are clean.
Advantages of Vapour Blasting:- Quality
1) Maintaining a metal component in a stable high quality because of batch processing.
2) Enables creating granular crystal.
3) A surface of metal component becomes satin finished surface.
Environment
1) A physical cleaning method without using ozone depleting substance
2) Relatively little rinse water or chemicals, consequently little drainage.
